JESUS and the Disciples fishing

The Gospel for today is from the Gospel according to St Luke chapter 5, and it talks to us about the fishing of a large number of fishes by the Disciples in the lake of Gennesaret.  There was by the lake 4 fishermen, Saint Peter and his brother Andrew. James and his brother John were cleaning and folding their nets after trying all night without catching a single fish and thus they were very depressed.  The LORD JESUS was by the lakeside surrounded by a great multitude of people who gathered around HIM to listen to the words of GOD.  The LORD JESUS showed HIMSELF to be in need for St Peter’s boat to talk to the people and thus HE went into the boat after taking the permission from St Peter He started preaching to the great multitude of people and when HE has finished HE asked for another favour” “Put out into deep water, and let down the nets for a catch.” Simon answered Master, do you want us to go again to the water, we’ve worked hard all night and haven’t caught anything. But because you say so, I will let down the nets
What was the result when St. Peter obeyed the Lord Jesus? They caught a lot of fish until the two ships were about to sink, this for them was a miracle since they have never caught such amount of fishes before.
The response of St Peter. fell at Jesus’ knees and said, “Go away from me, Lord; I am a sinful man!”
This does not mean that I don’t want YOU or casting HIM out, but it means that I am a sinful man who does not deserve that YOU be with me. Here it is truly honest repentance, a true change.
The Second change was that he knew that Jesus was the LORD GOD before he called him master but now he Knew that Jesus is not only a master but He is the Lord.
This was the response of St Peter, then what was the response of the LORD JESUS?
“Don’t be afraid; from now on you will fish for people.” You are afraid of your sins, “Don’t be afraid” your sins are forgiven. and; from now on you will fish for people.” So they pulled their boats up on shore, left everything and followed him.
Two things happened here, St. Peter knew that he is sinful, the LORD forgave him and gave him an invitation, and St Peter accepted the invitation without any hesitation and followed HIM without returning back. Good News
